This year’s show will also include a segment on incorporating unique and traditional cultural elements, featuring 2016 K&D Designer of the Year, Mayumi Redin. And we’re bringing back our Wearable Floral Art contest yet again, for a little friendly competition! Plus, don’t miss the silent auction, show specials, catered lunch, wedding cake, and more!

Wearable Floral Art Contest
Have a little fun with some friendly competition in our wearable flowers contest! The day of the show, please wear a design of your choosing and creation. It can be a headpiece, corsage, flower beard, sash, necklace – anything! Use your imagination! You’ll get to showcase your designs at the show before your peers and colleagues cast their vote for show favorite. The People’s Choice Winner will be announced at the conclusion of the show!
Just a few rules:
– Your design must be wearable…that means designs that must be carried, dragged, or pulled in a wagon will not be qualified to enter. (Unless you find a way to wear the wagon.)
– Designs must be pre-made and worn to the event. You will not have time to create them at the show.
– You must be present and accounted for and wearing your design at the Modern Romance Wedding Design Showcase to enter and/or win.
Then, Corey will be back again on Monday, February 29th to teach two hands-on design classes:
Master’s Class: Structure – Table to Bouquet (Cost: $150, Time: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM)
Focusing on event tablescapes and bridal bouquets at an advanced level, Corey will demonstrate how to bring a master’s level of artistry to special event design work.
Intermediate Class: Inspired Event Design (Cost: $100, Time: 1:30-4:30 PM)
A round-robin class format will engage designers in creating unique looks for three different mock events, rotating teams to work on each for collaborative creativity.
